A high-quality test instrumentation is essential for high quality assessments, but more is needed for high quality and usable advice. First and foremost, our psychologists must be able to use the instruments properly. Secondly, their skill and care is needed for weighing, integrating and aggregating all information. The quality of the final advice depends on this. In order to guarantee both, Bijleveld & Van Vriesland takes the following measures to guarantee the high quality of our psychologists:
We work exclusively with robust culture-neutral instruments whose outcomes are not influenced by cultural background, age or gender. All our tests meet the cultural fairness guidelines of two renowned bodies: the National Bureau for Combating Racism (LBR) and the COTAN.
In addition, we regularly train our psychologists and assessors in culture- and bias-free assessment, focusing among other things on the consequences of risk-averse selection (the ‘same as us’ principle), the role of one’s own norms and values in the assessment process, and competencies that are most essential in functioning in contact with different cultures.
In order to be able to advise you on the best and most up-to-date instruments, we constantly monitor and evaluate the overwhelming range of renowned (international) test developers in the market. We continuously research the market, new and existing instruments and test. We impose strict requirements on suppliers for research activities and the updating of their test offerings and standards. This ensures that our range of instruments meets the highest standards and matches the diversity of your questions and candidates.
